An epic Edwardian silver "envelope" locket made to resemble a folded, sealed letter. The raised knob on the front represents the sealing stud/wax seal.

These were worn as pendants or hung from watch chains or chatelaine.

Fully hallmarked and crafted by renowned Birmingham silversmiths Adie & Lovekin Ltd. This fabulous locket would have cased a loved ones hair lock or secret message - making this piece even more curious.

The etching to the front and back is stunning and the small details are charming from the perfectly formed lines and little wax seal.

Perfect worn as a necklace with its large loop to fit on many chains. A lovely item that would make a great gift.

Measurements: 4.9g / with loop drop: 40mm x 23mm

Condition: Antique item with general wear commensurate with age. Some very light dents on the lower edge of the locket. Opens and closes perfectly. Some light discolour to the internal flap of the envelope. Generally very light wear.
