A brilliant 1852 Sterling Silver fully hallmarked fancy vinaigrette. Gold gilted interior with an ornate second case for the perfumed sponge - sponge is still intact and even has a sweet scent!

Made by renowned silversmiths Hilliard and Thompson, England - this piece has all the features you would want from an antique item.

Large bail makes this a perfect locket to wear with a chunky chain or even on a fine chain. To the front of the locket an inscription reads ‘CEM’ within an oval border.

Engraved to the front and back and ornately shaped like a book.

This is a fantastic collectors item and a brilliant piece of neck art.

Measurements: 16.87g / inc bail 4cm drop x 2.5cm wide x 1cm depth

Condition: Excellent antique condition with beaitiful patina. Opens and closes smoothly. Historic alteration to the top of the vinaigrette (see photos) though this is quite minor.
