A lovely and heavy gage Albert chain dated 1900.

The name “Albert” was given after Prince Albert, Queen Victoria’s husband, who popularised the wearing of chains across the waistcoat with seals and a “T” bar terminal. Today these chains have become a statement piece of jewellery worn as neck chains.

This chain is composed of 9ct gold curb links that are an even size with two dog clips at either end. The T bar is attached to the centre of the chain. This is a great length chain at 18” that looks amazing stacked with other chains or as a stand alone antique statement piece. The chain has a lovely patina that has developed a slight rose hue giving a lovely colour to the antique chain.

All stamped with the maker’s mark and Gold standard. This Victorian Albert chain is bold and versatile and looks great worn with pendants and charms attached. Its substantial weight of 43.4g and excellent condition make it a fabulous piece of antique gold jewellery.
