A superb Victorian light blue guilloché enamel and silver compact pendant. Likely from France Circa 1890-1900. The front cover of this lovely piece has a decoration in a striking light blue guilloché enamel with stunning detail in solid silver with gold gilt interiors finish. The lovely wave edges give a striking appearance. The locket is fitted with a three barrel hinged lid raised by a simple snap thumb piece.

The enamel is to the front and back of the locket all in wonderful display which makes this locket even more unique as many lockets during that time would only contain enamel to the front. The interior has a gold gilt with the same detailing making the locket very pretty indeed.

This item has its original mirror which is rare to find. The guilloché enamel is a shimmering blue, over a radiating engraved pattern. Guilloché is a highly decorative technique used in metalwork, most famously in the work of Fabergé, which combines mechanical engraving and translucent enamels to create depth and luminosity.

Looks brilliant with a chunky chain or even on a fine chain.

Sale is for locket only, chain is not included.
