A fabulous Edwardian chunky statement band in buttery 18ct gold, fully hallmarked with real presence. This substantial ring features a star-set cushion-cut diamond and an old-cut emerald.
The diamond dazzles at approximately 0.15 carat, the soft old facets flash beautifully enhanced by the star setting that draws the eye into its centre. Beside it sits a rich old-cut emerald of about 0.10 carat, a vivid, deep green that is bold and eye catching. I adore the colours of the ring from that glowy gold to the sparkles of white and green they are all so beautifully matched.
With a chunky band this makes a lovely thumb ring, where its scale and silhouette are perfectly matched. The buckle has long been a stylish motif in jewellery. Queen Victoria herself famously wore buckle jewellery as an emblem of her membership in the Order of the Garter, an order founded in 1348 and traditionally awarded in recognition of distinguished public service. Condition: Very good antique condition.There is a faint inclusion in the diamond and one of the claws has nibbbled away though the diamond is secured with 7 other strong claws. The ring has historically been resized up with signs of an additional gold piece added but this can certainly be made smaller. Some general wear commensurate with age on the band.
Packaging: This item will be hand-tied with my branded ribbon, boxed with a thank you note and packaged in sustainable discreet packaging.
