A charming pendant suspended from a chain featuring a stylised bow with butterfly-like wings, set with vibrant peridots and pearls.
This is such a pretty necklace crafted in 15ct gold, with a graceful, feminine silhouette that catches the eye. The bow is adorned with graduated seed pearls outlining the ribbon loops and tails, and is accented by four round high-crown peridot gems. I love the intensity of the green — it has a fresh, spring-time feel that lifts the whole piece. A very pretty palette of colours, and this is quite different to the other Art Nouveau items I have come across, feeling both delicate and distinctive.
The bow tails gently dangle, adding graceful movement and extra sparkle, making this piece so enchanting.
The piece is suspended from a smaller chain that connects with a peridot which gathers the chain to complete the necklace, adding a charming finishing detail. I love how detailed this necklace is; it’s quietly elegant, offering understated, effortless glam.
Bow motifs were highly fashionable during the Victorian–Edwardian era, prized for their romantic symbolism.
The chain appears to be a replacement from the original one: still an antique-chain, but a 9ct chain fitted with a classic hook clasp. It’s difficult to notice the swap at a glance, as the tone of both pendant and chain is very similar, warmed by the lush, buttery patina only an antique piece can develop.
Beautiful on and really creates a true neck art moment, effortlessly drawing the eye and adding an elegant, statement touch.
