Victorian Collet Set Paste Diamond Drop Earrings

A fabulous pair of Victorian paste earrings, dating to circa 1860–1870. They display beautifully detailed floral borders with delicate black and silver enamel work, which wonderfully enhances the lustrous sparkle of the paste.

The earrings are attractive from every angle and reveal beautiful craftsmanship to the reverse - so you are bound to attract attention wearing these.

Crafted from real silver and 9ct gold, the warm metals and delicate hues really bring a beautiful, luminous tone to the paste.

At the centre sits a charming floral motif that immediately draws the eye. The foil-backed paste stones—used to enhance brilliance—were designed to imitate the lively shimmer of diamonds and were highly prized for their ability to sparkle both by candlelight and in daylight.

Traditionally worn as evening jewellery to catch and reflect candlelight, these earrings would make a perfect piece of evening jewellery or an elegant daytime treat.
