15ct gold horseshoe brooch with delicate platinum accents. Soft, rounded silhouette with a subtle inner engraving and tiny platinum “nails” providing refined contrast.

A popular late-Victorian/Edwardian detail — platinum was often added to gold for a more elegant, two-tone effect. Traditionally a symbol of protection and good luck, this piece feels both historic and wearable.

Generously sized yet surprisingly lightweight (it won’t pull at fabrics). It can be worn as a pendant if you prefer, but it’s perfectly at home pinned to an equestrian jacket.

The Details

Era: Late Victorian/early Edwardian

Material: 15ct & Platinum (unmarked but tested). Pin is not gold.

Measurements: 4.22g / 34mm x 29.6mm

Condition: Very Good Condition. Slight wear commensurate with age. There is a surface fine crack on the inner right side of the brooch that goes round partially to the back of the brooch (please see photos). Overall a lovely collectors piece.
